There are many ways in which parents can get involved with and support staff at Erasmus Darwin Academy.
Parents support the Academy initially by signing the Home-Academy Agreement. In this document, parents commit to supporting the Academy by ensuring that their child arrives on time, with the correct equipment and in full uniform. We agree to support parents with their child’s education and will contact them to inform parents of any key information.
Parents are invited annually to a ‘Parents’ Consultation Evening’, at which they have an opportunity to meet their child’s subject teachers. During this meeting, parents are asked to complete a feedback form on their views on the Academy. This information is taken very seriously, is analysed closely and is followed up with appropriate action.
Erasmus Darwin Academy values the qualitative feedback of parents who are willing to give up their time to discuss specific issues in relation to improving standards at EDA. On a half-termly basis, a cluster of parents meet in the ‘Parent Focus Group; future initiatives are shared, and parents are invited to comment. The contributions made from parents are recorded and used to refine our own policies and procedures.
